Clive heads up the team at MKM Honiton and has been in merchanting in the area over 20 years – so if you’re in the trade your bound to recognise his face.
He knows his customers well and has built great friendships within the trade based on his friendly, personable and reliable traits.
Clive is looking forward building his team, and managing a flexible business where he can put the needs of customers first. He’ll work with the trade and DIYers equally to ensure service is top notch – and will work to ensure when you’re doing business by trade credit account that we have negotiated the best possible price for your business.
When Clive’s not thinking of all things building materials he’s likely to be found following his favourite sports – football, cricket, golf and horse racing. Not to forget rugby which is a keen interest having played first team for Coventry back in the 80’s.
Martin joins MKM after working for a bathroom retailer. Having spent time within the bathroom industry Martin is very much looking forward to a change of scenery, grasping the opportunity to learn a different area of work.
His prior experience within warehousing and stock control stand him in good stead in his new role, ensuring the MKM Honiton branch will run smoothly. With experience driving fork-lifts as well as a qualification in electronic practice, Martin’s knowledge is varied.
When asked for an interesting fact about himself, Martin noted that he is ‘quite awesome’, hopefully during his time at MKM he will be able to upgrade himself to ‘truly awesome’.
Outside of work Martin’s interests include football and music.
Chris joins us from another merchant. He’s initially looking forward to getting involved with setting up MKM Honiton’s fantastic new branch, before settling into his role as a salesperson specialising in heavyside materials.
Knowledgeable and experienced in his specialist area, Chris can be relied upon by customer’s to provide accurate, useful and up-to-date advice about materials they may be interested in and their best uses.
Outside of working hours Chris is kept busy by his 6 (soon to be 7) grandchildren, seeking solace either in his garden or on the golf course.
Anthony joins MKM from another merchant and has a lot of experience in driving large vehicles – manoeuvring them in to small spaces to make heavy deliveries.
He’s looking forward to getting started and getting his hands on his brand new MKM branded HGV, which is the state of the art in delivery vehicles.
Anthony will be getting to grips with the new technology on the new MKM Honiton fleet – including front and reverse parking cameras and remote control cranes.
Outside of MKM you’re most likely to find Anthony on the golf course.
Trade Counter Sales
Alex joins MKM having gained great experience in another merchant in the area, he joins to progress his career and learn new skills within the industry.
You’ll find Alex’s friendly smile behind the counter or at the end of the phone at MKM Honiton – ready to help and advise with your query – whatever it might be!
He’ll be able to help source that product spare, or special item from a list of thousands of national as well as local suppliers.
He’s looking forward to working with the new team at the branch. Pop in and say hello next time you’re passing.
Neil joins MKM from another national merchant, giving him valuable prior experience within the industry. In addition to his past experience, Neil has a City & Guilds qualification in Heavyside Materials and Management, a testament to his knowledge of the industry.
He’s most looking forward to the opportunity to work for an independent merchant, enabling him to provide the personal touches necessary to make a difference for MKM Honiton’s customers.
Outside of work Neil enjoys football and motorsport, even managing three years co-driving a rally car in his spare time.
Jamie has always enjoyed getting behind the wheel so it made sense for him to turn his love for vehicles into an occupation.
He joins MKM from the day of opening and he’s excited about the new opportunity as well as working with a new team of people.
Outside of work, Jamie enjoys cricket and shooting as well as keeping up with his interest in cars and bikes (he’s also a trained Motor Vehicle Technician – although we’re hoping he won’t need those skills!). By day you’ll find him out on the roads of Honiton in one of the brand new yellow, MKM branded trucks – so if you see him be sure to give him a wave!
Phil joins us from another merchant. He has masses of prior experience working within the merchant industry, providing the MKM Honiton branch with the ability to hit the ground running during it’s initial months of trading.
The most exciting aspect of joining MKM for Phil is the ability to have a fresh start, working with a new set of skilled, hard-working and friendly colleagues.
After a day of work Phil likes to stay in the fresh air and ‘wind-down’ by taking part in long distance cycling or long distance running.
Yard Assistant / Relief Driver
Neil is a fun, outgoing and bubbly guy who enjoys a laugh and we’re sure he’s going to be a great member of team MKM Honiton.
With plenty of experience over the years driving HGVs, Neil is a dab hand at delivering an awkward load – but his primary role at MKM will be within the warehouse and yard ensuring stock and orders are accurate and keeping everything organised.
Outside of MKM, Neil enjoys a mix of outdoor sports including sea fishing, cycling and kayaking. He also grows his own fruit and veg so we’re sure he’ll be keeping his MKM colleagues on the healthy straight and narrow!
Matthew joins MKM having had experience working on building sites putting the products MKM sells to good use.
He’s most excited about meeting new colleagues and customers, as well as enabling MKM Honiton to increase trade through his history working on-site.
Matthew’s specialist area’s include carpentry and general building, having achieved level 1, 2 & 3 in carpentry his knowledge regarding the subject will be invaluable to the Honiton branch.
Outside of work Matthew whiles away his weekends and evenings on the cricket pitch and in the nets.
Hungarian-born Anna is a kitchen and bathroom design specialist at MKM Honiton. She originally qualified as an Architect Technician, but started working in bathroom design 14 years ago. After to moving to the UK in 2005, Anna broadened her design remit into kitchens, working at Bradfords Building Supplies before joining MKM.
Outside of MKM, Anna is busy planning her wedding for June 2017, but still finds time to relax with walks in the woods or on the beach with her fiancé, their little boy and their black Labrador (which she admits to treating like her first child). She also loves off-road cycling and swimming – she even used to compete in triathlons back in Hungary at national level.
